606. I just picked up a Warbonnet Eldorado lightweight double layer and have found it to have less calf ridge than some other single-layer gathered-end hammocks. (I’ve also tried the XLC 1.7 single-layer and a Chameleon single-layer.). I surmise that the double-layer has less stretch and therefore less calf ridge.

Seems like there should be a sticky on this topic. When calculating a structural ridgeline, should one go from the end of the hammock fabric, (the manufacturer's stated length), or from the points of suspension, (i.e. the end of the carabiners that come with a Grand Trunk hammock)? I tried the 83% calculation for my first ridgeline, …I’m a big guy, keep this in mind 6’4” 330lbs. I originally used some atlas straps. The sewing on the joints began to give, so I switched and now use 3000lb tree huggers and 1/8 amsteel whoopies. Which work great, but I miss the simplicity of the atlas straps. I was thinking of going to the daisy chain since it’s joints are woven.Nov 29, 2013 · Views: 620. Phantom Grappler. 08-13-2023, 19:53. Page 1 of 319 1 2 3 11 51 101 ... Last. As a flip-flopping side-sleeper who prefers more of an “air cot” (bridge hammock with air pad) to a traditional gathered-end & underquilt, I was immediately intrigued by the Zenbivy as an excellent option for comfortable top insulation that stays in plays while tossing and turning to multiple positions throughout the night.

Pick any small cord that is listed by the cottage shops as a guy line, or suspension cord. Lash-it, Zing-it, Dynaglide, so on and so on are good options for either type of ridge line. So, my Amock Draumr 5.0 arrived on Friday, 5 days earlier than estimated (it was exciting watching it fly here on the tracking site). I'll post several updates in this thread as I try it out and see if I'll be keeping it. First problem (which I anticipated) it does NOT work with my current hammock stand. 67. I made an UQ from an old mummy sleeping bag. I cut it into a rectangle. It's about 44" wide (I looked online at several cottage maufacturers and this was about how side theirs were) and I cut it down to about 3/4 length. Channels on with shockcord on all 4 sides like Shug's Frankenquilt. The original JRB is deeper than the others, and when a NeoAir pad is used it widens the hammock a lot, as well as VERY warm. Some pros: 1: Any bridge hammock = the end of calf pressure. 2: no knee extension. 3: no side twist when side sleeping. 4: way superior to gathered hammocks for pad use.

Here's my review of the RR. I got mine brand new off of Ebay for $140. My first full night in it was the best sleep I've had in a hammock yet and I sleep really good in my diy argon 1.6, so that's saying a lot. In this review I have my diy Snugpak Jungle Blanket UQ on for a test fit , as well as my overstuffed CDT UQ, both quilts fit great.
