Afraid I'm going to break the shift handle . Shifts fine when not running . It's just 12 months old.This is pretty much an on going problem with Gator clutches I have found out. Other equip: 1982 IH 274 diesel, 1957 Farmall Cub, 1992 33" cut Snapper rear engine rider, 1984 30" cut Snapper rear engine rider. XUV 550 hard shifting. My 550 has 41 hours on it and has been back to JD for shifting problems. JD did a fine job, put the new clutch kit in it. It was fine for the next 30 hours, now it is really, really hard to shift. I have to shut it off to get it from F to R or back from R to F.So, your John Deere Gator is getting hard to shift.
