Flame, on its own, is not much to behold. It has mediocre moves which don’t do much damage and it has no escape move. Tomioka is good for its extra move Dead Calm, but that’s about it. Water on its own is also a decent option due to its perk to bring back breathing bar levels when landing M1 hits. Its moves are pretty decent and impactful.

No , dark thunder also gave more damage than that normal thunder . You need get thunder breath then go hybrid. To get it you need to get thunder breathing then go to talk to kaigaku (he is in forest hideout) be sure to have dark thunder essence. I am not sure about damage buffs.
