Jun 24, 2022. #1. So verified, this 2005 had plastic gaskets. Intake has never been off, 130,000 miles. Took me a little less than 4 hours start to finish with 30ish minutes to eat and feed my kids. Looked pretty decent in there, but the plastic gaskets were done.

I also found that there was a small divet where the metal of the LIM had worn away:icon_conf. I'm not sure how this might affect engine performance.
If the gaskets are leaking externally, change them NOW!!! Bar's Leaks will be worse than nothing since it's giving a false sense of security. Also, it won't work with the design of the LIM gaskets. GM has issued a number of technical service bulletins describing the problem and recommended repairs (which may require replacing the intake manifold bolts as well as the gaskets).
