My spare aluminum prop seems to rub a bit too much on it.The bore sleeve is meant to take up the gap between the propeller and gear housing. If the sleeve is not in place what can happen is exhaust gasses can escape between the prop and gear housing, and cause the prop to loose it's bite in the water, ventilate, and blow out.
