I didn’t get a dye stealer until 20DPO and that’s usually around the time most women get them, some sooner, some later. However, they have no significant meaning and many women never get a dye stealer and go on to have healthy pregnancies! You can’t compare dye stealers. It’s quite literally bat shit crazy. It’s not like comparing the test line getting darker. Dye stealers are fun! But they can’t be compared with each other. The way the dye moves up the test makes a huge difference. If the dye is light at first and gets heavy you get a perfect dye stealer.

It’s certainly possible to have a dye stealer. I had a dye stealer on 17dpo, normal progesterone (24), and hcg levels typical of a normal pregnancy (even doubled at first) and still had an ectopic. I will say that I didn't get a positive pregnancy test until my missed period, but it got darker quickly.
