The EXP cap is at 1 million, you advance up to 100k which has a level limit of 100, then from there it is a gradient curve where you gain, say 25k exp and advance 10 ... A freshly tamed dino, no matter what level it is, is considered level 0 with 0 experience for the purpose of leveling it up.
