The bonuses for conjuration summons don't transfer over to the necromancy summons. Also when you have undead summons, you really don't need even more summons. To each their own tho. I like to combine illusion and necromancy for my build with meta magic boosting animate dead for a nice undead group to back me up.

Angel is the better blaster and buffer, lich is the better Gish. Angel has more party support (unless you run only graveguards, and even then I would put Angel on top) and better immunities, lich has vampiric blade which is just broken good for a level 4 spell.
