It sounded much, much better going through a 12" speaker cab. Overall it was a decent amp with adequate reverb. I used it at 5 watts with a Boss BD-2 blues driver to get better distortion. I didn't think it sounded very good at 0.5 watts. It's a good intro to tube amps, but even a 5 watt tube amp is pretty loud.

The 15w has a bigger speaker which will sound way better. It can produce frequencies the smaller 8 in speaker just can't. The 12 is the rock standard, and will produce more low end and sound fuller. It has more controls, meaning more tones and better fine tuning.
