Nissan Mechanic: Roy Sheidenberger. It depends on exactly the noise is coming from the transmission , engine or front of engine by the drive belt. I use a stethoscope to help isolate the exact location first. I have heard some transmission bearings make noise , and timing chains and pulleys and bearings from front of the engine also .
