I think the XDS did really well considering it's a sub-compact, a 45 cal, and it's my first time shooting it. After 50 rounds from each gun I'm really impressed! A buddy of mine has a Beretta 92 and it shot pretty nicely. I’ve narrowed down to the Glock 19 Gen 3 (California) and the Springfield XD 9mms. Its simply a shame that Glock fans will become hostile against anything that isnt a Glock simply because they have a hand that more naturally fits a Glock. 3.XD9 fits my hand better but the Glock 19 is more concealable because of the shorter grip. The XD is a pretty slept on gun, its comfortable, easy to shoot, and easier to manipulate than a gen 3 19. That being said, If we Californians had better access to a gen 5, I would probably go with that.

The 19 holds more rounds. I've had the Springfield XD sub 9mm, a Glock 26 and 19. The biggest problem with the 26 is the lack of said a rail (why that's the case is beyond me; it would easily fit), which the XD has. As someone who's had and shot the lot, the grip angle on the XD is more in line with my liking. And the grip safety?

I'm not knocking the 19. But I do see competitive alternatives that have been just as reliable as the 19 to say the least.
