However, I have also read about spotty qc and fittment issues. The Varmint has a slightly longer barrel (23 3/4"), weighs more (7 7/8 lbs), and has a higher magazine capacity (5+1). It is also ~$300 dollars more expensive. The Lite's barrel is 22 2/5", weighs 5 7/8 lbs, and has a stock magazine of 3+1. I am planning on getting either an MDT XRS or KRG Bravo chassis at some point for the rifle - I know that ...Oryx is smaller than the xrs and less modular. XRS is definitely more geared for the prs realm on a budget. I like being able to use whichever grip I want on the oryx, however I would prefer having the option for Mlok on the side of the forend. For a general use midrange bolt gun I would pick the oryx again. 3.I had one in a MDT xrs. The weight distribution was very strange with a heavy stock and a carbon barrel. I never played with weighting it to balance. They have a slot on the MDT that works with the bottom bolt release. It's better than nothing, but not great for releasing the bolt.

Not a huge fan of the Magpul but I really like the Bravo. It’s a base model $350 stock/chassis. With the addition of a lot of KRG support for the Bravo, it also has the ability to be a $700 + setup. Nov 24, 2021 · I am in need of some help making a decision. I just traded for a new CZ 457 Varmint 22 LR. I have narrowed my choices down to either the KRG Bravo or the MDT XRS. The only chassis I have ever owned was an Oryx. I know that I don't want to go that route again. As far as ergonomics go, they appear to be pretty close.

At this moment I can't comment on whether I prefer a stock or a chassis but I do prefer the look of the chassis. I'm torn on this as there's not a lot of Bravo's here so I can't get real world comparisons from anyone here.

Both have adjustable combs but the MDT starts in a lower position. If you look at pictures of the KRG you'll see a cutout for bolt removal. MDT doesn't need this because of the lower comb. For me this means less cheek on the stock which is good from the bench.
