If you are a DPM and want to practice podiatry there isn't much add-on value to getting a DO and quite a financial burden goes along with it. If you find that podiatry isn't your thing and want to practice in a field that is enterred via having an MD/DO (paraphrasing the above) then it might be worth it, though financial burdens still apply …
