I only have 3100 miles on my 1800 but will change about 5000 miles after this change. And was recommended to use 5w40. well, my big truck, before I stopped driving her and turned her over to another driver, had 1.2 million miles on her, and she was just getting broke in good. So, with proper maintenance, and the necessary repairs and replacements from time to time, I expect my VTX to go at least that far before I replace her.It's 100% glycol; either 100% propylene glycol (PG) or a blend of PG and ethylene glycol (EG). Its specific heat capacity is only 80% that of 50/50 EG/water at 212F and its viscosity is 3.3 times higher at that temp. This means that it flows more slowly through your engine AND removes less heat than 50/50 EG/water. A double-whammy.
