My headset has a game mode and chat mode, and it outputting to the chat mode produced a horrible static and caused the game to crash in directx 11. I play on Xbox360 and a few days ago, my sound while playing FFXI will slowly cut out. It is gradual but after a couple of hours of playing, the sound effects begin to slowly cut out and then the game is basically muted. I will then log my character out and there are no sound effects on the character selection screen.

I've been having a problem in certain content where sound effects cut out or don't play at all. Game music, system sounds, etc are not affected. It's most easily reproduced by going into Grand a Cosmos and fighting the second boss. Their Siren sound affects like the harp or the loud scream will either not play at all or cut out half way through playing.
