no doubt most of you will be aware that prior to 2005 Gibson guitars had a system of 8 numbers stamped on the back of the guitar head to identify the serial of the guitar. After that they included a batch number that increased the information to 9 numbers. My Les Paul studio is a 1991 model so the system of 8 letters should represent ydddynnn.
