As someone said in another thread, this bass has a "Quality" feel to it. The neck is straight, the ebonol fretboard feels great, and the fretwork is excellent -- no rough edges whatsoever! The weight is 9.75 lbs. and it balances very well. The neck profile is decidedly non-Fender.The P-Bass has a wider neck and a smaller body than the 32" Jazz. There is a 32" Fender Aerodyne P/J on eBay as I write this. The guy is asking $798 plus $120 shipping from Japan!! A bit steep for that bass.

Initial thoughts: super comfy and slick neck, strange since it's fixed and the (very cool) uniform color flows across the whole instrument- thus the neck is painted and paint-smooth accordingly. Tone is absolutely incredible- a whole new tonal category different from the P-J-Stingray array ... The pickups/bass overall sounds awesome. Apparently they are custom spec'd Seymour Duncans. Sounds like a P bass but bit more focused (exactly like how JMJ described it). The bass came with a good quality padded Fender gig bag and not some cheap thin garbage lol. Click Below …The epoxy coating does change the sound a bit. Gives a bit brighter highs. If the bass is defretted you must fill the fret slots and sand level before applying epoxy.
