Hey guys i recently bought an 09 duramax that was wrecked up in the rear. i got it and couldnt get to to start. long story short the crank is broken in it. I have three other duramax motors laying around that i have aquired out of other trucks with the top burnt in them but i cant remember for...The duramax engine has a long history of breaking cranks at that location. This is so much of a common issue that people have created cam shafts with altered firing orders to try to remove the stress from that point on the crank. About 2 weeks ago on the way to work the truck started bucking violently and died. Pulled codes and got p0366 crank sensor. Took it to a mechanic I know and he replaced crank sensor. It still throws the code after clearing it when cranking. We are getting power and signal from both the crank and cam sensor. The reluctor wheel is tight.But a broken crank will have a vibration.
