There are vents all around if you don't have portable AC. The whole thing is shiny and reflects heat. It's also great in the winter with a Mr Buddy, as it is somewhat insulated. I used an Whynter ARC-12SD last year with a Honda EU2200i. It worked ok, but sometimes the generator shut down when the AC cycled. For this year I wired in a Supco SPP5 to help the generator deal with power spikes. I imagine a shiftpod under bigger shade would work pretty well, and the full-size shiftpod definitely gives you room for a nice bed setup along with all your other stuff. The full size shiftpods are massive to move around: fine for playa and other substantial car camping missions, but definitely more of a hassle than normal tents.
